The Art of Organization...Fabric Storage

· · Comments
With the Christmas Season behind us, I have taken the time to reorganize my sewing “area”.
Who would have thought that finding a suitable storage shelf could be just as fun as fabric shopping (not quite!). Organization is key when running a sewing business, even when it is just a hobby. When fabric is at reach and ready to be used, the process of sewing up a project becomes less of a hassle.
While there are some great DIY/Repurpose options (that I will discuss later), I resorted to shopping online and found my perfect solution that can be added onto.

1. The EKET Series is easy to put together, modern, and allows one to create any combination they desire.
Find the EKET Series here --> http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/search/?query=eket
2. Although I prefered the ability to create any design I could dream up, the KALLAX system from Ikea was a close second

3. A close to home option would be the ClosetMaid storage shelves. I have found this line in Walmart, Home Depot, and Canadian Tire. With similar featuers to the KALLAX system and the option to purchase bins that fit in the cubbies. This option provides a wallet friendly option (leaving more money to purchase fabric!).

4. Perfect option for a DIY'er! Repurpose an old filling cabinet for fabric, this option would also be great to store patterns. It is on my list of "to-dos"

5. Perfect DIY when your children grow up!
